Côtes-du-Rhône - ESPRIT - Blanc 2022 - 6x75cl

THE WINE

With this cuvée, we put all our ancestral know-how into making a prestigious Côtes du Rhône. A great wine with character, elegance and character, featuring the historic grape variety and king of the southern Rhône Valley: Grenache Noir.

To ensure that this grape expresses its full potential, the vineyards are cultivated using sustainable methods, with severe winter pruning, green harvesting and leaf thinning to limit yields. The grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness.

Appearance - Bright golden yellow with green highlights.

Nose - Fresh and fragrant. In its early youth, the nose is dominated by green apple and citrus fruit. After a year's cellaring, peach and candied lemon dominate, with a touch of honey and mango aromas and a floral hint of acacia.

Palate- In its youth, the attack is fresh with notes of lemon, lychee and mango. Complex, with a fine balance between roundness and liveliness, the palate is lifted by aromas of grapefruit, boxwood and fresh summer fruit. After a year's cellaring, the palate becomes rounder and more elegant, with greater length and fullness on exotic fruit, acacia honey and candied lemon.

  • THE LOCATION

The grapes come from small Rhône Valley winegrowers, all of whom have been partners of Maison Brotte for several decades. The winemaking process is the hallmark of Maison Brotte, and this cuvée demonstrates our expertise and mastery of regional grape varieties.

    THE TERROIR

We have selected vines planted on a very fine clay-loam terroir that benefits from plenty of sunshine. The warm, dry climate favors berry ripening and good vineyard health. The early-picked Grenache Blanc grape favors thiolated aromas of citrus and exotic fruit. Viognier and Clairette bring complexity, with hints of peach and white flowers.

    VINIFICATION & AGEING

Gentle pneumatic pressing at low pressure. After the must has been cold-settled overnight at 10°C, alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at a low temperature of between 16° and 18°. Malolactic fermentation is omitted to retain all the freshness, and the wine is aged for 6 months on fine lees, with regular stirring in stainless steel tanks. Bottling takes place in March or April, depending on the harvest.
